Yellowstone National Park – Old Faithful

After several attempts, we were finally able to visit Yellowstone National Park this year. Everyone always thinks of the Old Faithful Geyser when they think of Yellowstone, but there is so much more to see.

Having said that, let’s start with Old Faithful.

We got up early to avoid the crowds and parking problems. We were fortunate to arrive just as the latest show was starting. The wind was coming at us from this viewpoint, so much of the steamy plume was hidden from us.

Fortunately there are many trails near Old Faithful that provide a different angle of the show. This view, just a few hundred feet from the main viewing area, was much better. You can see the lodge in the background.

Another view showing Old Faithful resting between shows.

This fellow was happy to entertain viewers.

Until next time.
