Partial Solar Eclipse

We woke up early the other morning to watch a partial solar eclipse sunrise in Two Rivers, Michigan. As many of you know, this was not an easy or pleasant task for Denise.

It was definitely worth the lost sleep.

We drove to what we hoped would allow us a good view and arrived just in time to see the sun rise above a far hill across a narrow section of Lake Michigan.
The sun is just now peeking above the horizon.
It wasn’t long before we realized we were in for an astronomical treat.
It started to look like the clouds would unfortunately mar the view.
Those fears were unfounded.
A closer look with our optical zoom.
It appears you can easily see features on the moon’s surface.
An even closer look with digital zoom. Not bad.
A little later, the sun is almost fully restored.

Until next time.
