Madison, Wisconsin was an unexpected treat. It’s the capital of Wisconsin, and their Capitol building as well as their downtown is situated between two lakes. The University of Wisconsin is also in this area. This makes for an active and vibrant downtown. There are bike trails running along the lakes as well as many outdoor restaurants. The architecture in this area is a nice mix of Victorian, Art Deco, and modern.
Oh, and did we mention the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center is there too? It was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright so of course we had to visit. While at the Convention Center we were able to enjoy a nice vegetarian lunch while sitting outside overlooking Lake Monona. The following pictures were taken at the Convention Center.

Until next time.
