One summer long ago, in Dallas, Texas, young Will would ride his bicycle as often as possible to the local Skillerns drug store. As many drug stores had at the time, it had a soda fountain and he would eat his lunch there. He would enjoy crinkle cut fries and a cherry coke. We found this old fashioned drug store that reminded him of his childhood. Here’s Denise with our cherry Cokes.
Borrum’s Drug Sore is the oldest drug store in Mississippi. It didn’t appear to do much business as a drug store anymore but it did a great business as a soda fountain.
Those crinkle cut fries Will loved so much. That hasn’t changed. It is still one of his favorite dishes.
