Welcome to the grand and great National Air Museum at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. This place is massive and it needs to be to contain all of the fantastic exhibits that are housed at the museum. Here are a few of the items we saw.
The actual Memphis Belle of WW II fame is here.

Here’s a photo of the Memphis Belle’s crew upon completing their tour. Considering how many crews never made it home, can you imagine the joy they must have felt?

The F-117 A Nighthawk.

An earlier jet. I think this is a F-86 Sabre.

An amazing bomber, the B58 Hustler.

Various presidential planes. This is JFK’s 707.

A space shuttle mockup.

Up close and personal with an SR-71. Or is this an A-12 or YF-12? I can never tell.

A few rockets and/or missiles.
A saucer-like prototype craft.

A very early aircraft.

Until next time.
