Buffalo New York, US – Frank Loyd Wright Martin House

While in the northeast area we visited several Frank Lloyd Wright creations. This is the Martin House, located in an older neighborhood in Buffalo, New York. It was built in 1903 and the rest of the neighborhood houses are Victorian in style. You can imagine the neighbors reaction to this modern style of house. The inside was even more revolutionary. The living spaces, including the living room, dining room, and library were all open to each other.

The home was built for William E. Martin, co-owner of the E-Z Stove Polish Company. It is considered one of Wright’s most important works.

We took a tour of the house and enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately they don’t allow pictures to be taken of the inside, so if you are interested in what the interior looks like you will have to go see it for yourself. Or go online to take a look.

Here’s a nice photo of Frank.

Frank was a genius architect and artist. If you lived in one of his homes, you were living inside a work of art.

Here’s a guest house on the property. It was also designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

Here’s another Frank Lloyd Wright home in Buffalo. Someone still lives in this home.

Another Frank Lloyd Wright building in Buffalo. This is now used as an apartment building.

Until next time.
