Quebec City, Quebec, Canada is a little bit of Europe in Canada.

The Chateau Frontenac is a grand old hotel at the highest point in Old Quebec City. From 1620 to 1834 this was the site of the home for the French governors. In the late 1800s the Canadian Pacific Railway constructed the hotel as one of Canada’s grand railway hotels. If you want to stay here plan to spend at least $400 (US dollars) a night.

French is the only official language here. While you are in Quebec City you will find that most people speak English. Once you leave the city be sure to brush up on your French speaking skills as most people don’t speak English and it is helpful to know a few key phrases.

Lots of shopping and restaurants.

Denise appears to walk out of some of the amazing wall art in Quebec City.

The city runs along the Saint Lawrence River.

Like many cities in Europe there is a wall that surrounds the city. This section is reminiscent of a castle..

Until next time.
Eastern Quebec, including Montreal and the Gaspe, is one of my favorite travel destinations. The St. Lawrence is beautiful, and the road on the south side of the river in the Gaspe is just spectacular. I’m so glad you are spending time in that part of the world.
