When we stay in Santa Fe most of our time is devoted to visiting and enjoying the company of family.
Santa Fe always provides beautiful sunsets as well as stunning mountain views.

Santa Fe has many hiking/biking trails. During our visit we took time to explore one of those trails, the La Tierra Trail System. It is a 25 mile multi use trail system intended for hiking, mountain biking, and horse back riding. We hiked approximately 5 miles of the trail.

Approximately an hour outside of Santa Fe, located near the village of Abiquiu, is a 21,000 acre retreat and education center called Ghost Ranch. It was the home of the artist Georgia O’Keeffe and was the inspiration for many of her paintings. It is also a significant paleontological site. Over 1,000 fossils of a small dinosaur called the Coelophysis was found on the site. These dinosaurs lived in the Triassic period approximately 200 million years ago. The facility has museums dedicated to the arts as well as to paleontology.
They also have several hiking trails that allow you to see the magnificent beauty of the region. We spent a day at the retreat and took a lovely hike as well as visited both of the museums.
